How to get here

By car: Take the M6 junction 36, follow A591 via Windermere to Waterhead. The hostel is one mile south of Ambleside town.

We have a free car park on-site for guests and patrons, however please be aware that parking is not guaranteed as we have around 25 parking spaces for up to 250 people staying at the hostel. This car park is controlled by an ANPR parking system. Upon arrival, motorists are required to validate their presence by entering their car's registration number at reception.

If the car park is full when you arrive, there is limited on-street parking in front of the pier and on Lake Road (three minute walk). There is also a pay and display car park two minutes' walk from the hostel on Borrans Road.

By bus: Alight at the Waterhead Hotel. The hostel is located on the waterfront to the left of the pier.

By train: Alight at Windermere. Directly outside of the train station, take the 555 bus and alight at the Waterhead Hotel. The hostel is located on the waterfront to the left of the pier.

By coach: The nearest National Express coach stop is at Ambleside, a mile away.
