How to get here
By car: Please do not use a sat nav when visiting YHA Wasdale Hall. Our postcode covers a large area and won't bring you to the hostel. Please follow the directions below or from Google Maps.
From the south: leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A590 then following on to the A5092 until Broughton-in-Furness. Join the A595 and follow until Gosforth, turn right and then right again at the mini roundabout and follow the road for approximately 3 miles; look out for a brown food and accommodation sign to the right - follow this to Nether Wasdale, go through the village and left over the humpbacked bridge, follow the lane for a further 1.5 miles - look out for the YHA sign on the right, go down the track and over the cattle grid down to the hostel.
From the north: leave the M6 at J40, take the A66 to Cockermouth then the A5086 to Egremont. Turn onto the A595 and go to Gosforth. In Gosforth follow the signs to Wasdale. After approximately 3 miles you will see a brown food and accommodation sign to the right - follow this to Nether Wasdale, go through the village and left over the humpbacked bridge. The hostel is 1.5 miles beyond Nether Wasdale - look out for the YHA triangle. Go over the cattle grid and down to hostel. Please note, that if you're travelling from either the north or south approach it will take around 1.5 hours to reach us from the motorway junction. From the Central Lakes it is possible to drive over Wrynose and Hardknott passes to Eskdale Green. The roads on this route are dramatic and very steep, often impassable in winter and crowded in summer.
