How to get here
By car or minibus: If you're driving, the hostel's postcode will take you to the wrong side of the river. Follow these instructions to find YHA Wye Valley.
From Ross-on-Wye, follow the A40 towards Monmouth. After Pencraig (50mph speed limit) take the next turning on your left, signposted Goodrich. After a mile you will enter the village of Goodrich. Pass Jollies stores on your right and then take the next turn on your left. This is signposted to Welsh Bicknor/Courtfield and the Youth Hostel. Continue over the bridge and up a steep hill. Follow the road for 1.5 miles keeping to your left all the way. You will cross a cattle grid and enter an open meadow. Around 250m after the cattle grid is a right hand turn in the meadow, the minibus may turn here if agreed or carry on. After another 500m you will reach a fork in the road. In the middle of the fork is a green sign which tells you the hostel is to the right and there is also a wooden fenced area on your right.
From Monmouth, follow the A40 towards Ross-on-Wye. At Whitchurch take the B4229 signposted Symonds Yat West. Make an immediate right-hand turn which takes you back over the A40 on a bridge. After the bridge take the turn on your left signposted Symonds Yat West/Goodrich/Kearne Bridge. Follow the B4229 towards Goodrich and then follow the directions above.
