Formerly a 17th century village inn, YHA Slaidburn has original, beamed ceilings, an open fire, and cosy accommodation. This property is the perfect escape for holidaymakers wanting to get away from the stresses of modern life.

First floor

One room that sleeps up to 3 people. It includes 1 set of bunk beds and a single bed.

Four rooms that sleep up to 4 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 5 people. It includes 2 sets of bunk beds and a single bed.

One room that sleeps up to 6 people. It includes 3 sets of bunk beds.

A cot is available.

The small kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: freezer, 2 kettles, microwave, 2 ovens, refrigerator, toaster.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery for XX people, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, bin bags, cloths, paper towels, soap, sponges, tea towels, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, there are two dining rooms. The largest seats up to 20 people across circular tables, while the smallest seats up to 10 people around a large farmhouse-style rectangular table.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 10 people. There are 3 comfy sofas, 2 armchairs and an open fire.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of six bathrooms.

Toilet paper is provided and hand soap is available next to all sinks.

Important: Due to the proximity of this hostel to neighbours, it is not a suitable venue for loud music or noise after 23:00. Please minimise noise outdoors after 21:00.
Heating: There is central heating throughout the property.
Towels and toiletries: Hand soap is provided next to all sinks. Towels are not supplied as standard.
Bedding: Bedding is supplied in all our rooms.
Dogs: Hire YHA Slaidburn and bring your dogs! Add a dog to your booking at the checkout and bring your four-legged friend along with you. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture, or in the kitchen, and must be kept on a lead in the grounds.
Checking in: You will receive an email prior to your arrival with the property address and check-in instructions.

Formerly the Black Bull pub, King’s House - also known as YHA Slaidburn - is one of YHA’s oldest hostels and has plenty of rural charm. This rustic home-from-home makes a comfortable base for ramblers and cyclists alike.

You'll find plenty of local shops and services nearby, and our cosy hostel sits in the centre of the village, near to an excellent pub. YHA Slaidburn has no phone signal or WiFi, so its the perfect location if you want to escape from it all!

This hostel is available on an Exclusive Hire basis only, so you'll get the entire place to yourself.

Volunteering

Volunteering with YHA is a fantastic way to have fun, learn new skills, boost your CV and travel to different places. We have a variety of different opportunities to choose from and volunteering roles to suit everyone.

The tasks are varied and in return you will meet some great people, who both work and stay in our hostels, as well as enjoying your time off discovering the local area and attractions.

This hostel is part of our Volunteer Managers programme. You can find out about becoming a Volunteer Manager and supporting our small hostels on our Volunteering site.

Meet the team

This hostel is looked after by Volunteer Managers who each give up a week or more of their time to ensure that our guests receive a warm welcome. The hostel also has the support of the team at YHA Haworth.
