Built around a stunning courtyard, YHA Boswinger is one of our oldest YHA properties in Cornwall, with beautiful sea views, wildlife and a great choice of beaches. The perfect seaside break for everyone.

Where you'll sleep

Across the entire building there is a total of 10 bedrooms.

Ground floor

One room that sleeps up to 4 people. It includes 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 6 people. It includes 3 sets of bunk beds.

First floor

Three rooms that sleep up to 2 people each. They include a set of bunk beds.

Two rooms that sleep up to 4 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 4 people. It includes a double bed and a set of bunk beds.

Two rooms that sleep up to 6 people each. They include 3 sets of bunk beds.

Cots are available but must be requested in advance.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: freezer, grill, 2 kettles, microwave, 3 ovens (2 gas, 1 electric), 2 refrigerators, stove, 2 toasters.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, bin bags, paper towels, soap, sponges, tea towels, washing up liquid.

There is an external door from the kitchen to the courtyard with outdoor seating.

Located on the ground floor, the dining room seats up to 30 people across chairs and benches. There are French windows leading into the garden.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

The small, cosy lounge is located on ground floor and seats up to 10 people. There are 2 sofas and 3 armchairs so you can relax with a book or play a board game.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of six bathrooms.

Showers: 6

Toilet paper is provided and hand soap is available next to all sinks.

Outdoors

Outside is a small, pretty garden with views out to sea. The garden is enclosed with a fence and hedges.

Guests have full access to the garden.

Dogs: Hire YHA Boswinger and bring your dogs! Add a dog to your booking at the checkout and bring your four-legged friend along with you. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture or in the kitchen, and must be kept on a lead in the grounds.

Boswinger is a charming rural retreat for outdoor breaks in Cornwall. With a multitude of secluded coves, coastal paths and leafy lanes just moments from the door, there are endless adventures on offer for walkers, cyclists and kayakers.

If you’re enticed by Cornwall’s renowned gardens, then we are perfectly placed for visits to the award-winning Eden Project, Caerhays Castle and Gardens and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. We are just off the South West Coastal Path and the Cornish Way cycle route as well as being close to the historic fishing village of Mevagissey. It's a 10-minute minute walk to the secluded Hemmick Beach too.

Volunteering

History

YHA Boswinger was one of the first properties YHA bought in Cornwall. Originally it was two separate farm buildings but they have since been connected into one. The manager’s accommodation used to be three self-contained flats which were available for hire, but this has now been converted.

Meet the team

Manager recommends: Take a stroll down the lane to Hemmick Beach where you can enjoy a peaceful day of sea-swimming, rock-pooling, or taking off on stunning walks along the South West Coast Path. Or if you fancy something a little more challenging, why not try a cycle ride to Mevagissey, where you can admire the fishing boats in the impressive double harbour and cool off with a Cornish ice cream?
