Get active and grab yourself an adventure at YHA Okehampton. This old railway goods shed set on the edge of Dartmoor has been converted to a modern hostel which forms a great centre for exploring the wilds of Dartmoor.
Our hostel is fantastic for cyclists exploring the local area and beyond. From hearty breakfasts to a handy cycle workshop on site, we can help you make any running repairs required during your stay. Experience the outdoor thrills at YHA Okehampton, located on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park.
Schools and other groups have the opportunity to learn essential skills, push boundaries and build confidence with the support of experienced instructors. Through a mix of skill, strength and courage, they depart with a newfound sense for adventure. We collaborate closely with leaders to create group and individual learning opportunities.
On-site, you can enjoy archery, bushcraft, low ropes, orienteering, climbing, cycling, teambuilding and night time adventures. Off-site venues offer prime spots for rock climbing, gorge scrambling, abseiling, canoeing, raft-building and water sports… plenty to enjoy!
Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.
Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.
This hostel offers drying facilities, group spaces, meeting areas and plenty of outdoor activity sites.
With tasty breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals, groups are sure to find something delicious to eat at YHA Okehampton.
Meal plans range from bed and breakfast up to full-board catering. Vegetarian options are available and we aim to cater for any special dietary requests.
There is free parking available at the hostel.
