National Trail social walk from YHA Canterbury

YHA Canterbury exterior

Overview

Saturday 12th October 2024

Distance: 7 miles

Duration: 3 hours

Led by: Peter Morris, North Downs Way National Trail Manager

We begin by exploring the heritage of beautiful Chilham, before winding through pretty woodland and farms into No Man’s Orchard. You will pass through an Iron Age Hillfort before arriving in historic Canterbury to finish your walk through Westgate Towers and arriving at the epic Canterbury Cathedral. We then return to YHA Canterbury for free cuppa and cake.

The terrain is undulating farmland and orchards with one reasonably steep but short hill, but the rest of walk is reasonably flat. This walk is not suitable for those using wheeled mobility aids, those with buggies or dogs.

This is a safe space for cis and trans women and non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of women. Please note that walk leaders may be male or female.
