Social walk from YHA Manchester

Join this guided walk along the Rochdale Canal and Ashton Canal to learn how these historic waterways have shaped Manchester. From Castlefield we will head east along the Rochdale Canal through the city centre via Canal Street, then join the Ashton Canal to walk through Ancoats before finishing at the Eithad Campus. We will then hop on the Metrolink to return to the hostel.
This is an easy walk, step-free and all paths are surfaced. There are some sloped ramps on the route that might be unsuitable for pushchairs or some mobility aids. Our historic canals do have some surfaces that are uneven and some towpaths are narrow, particularly under bridges and around locks.
