Social walk from YHA Conwy

YHA Conwy view

Overview

Sunday 15th September 2024

Distance: 6.5 miles

Duration: 4.5 hours – 5.5 hours

Led by: Simon Ainley, YHA with BMC volunteer guides

Starting and finishing at YHA Conwy, this circular route takes in heather covered  Mynydd Y Dref (Conwy Mountain), down to Conwy Estuary and back through the attractive streets of Conwy. There are remanets of an Iron Age Hill Fort, Sastell Care Seion on the summit and whilst descending along the ridge take in the stunning views all around.

The higher sections of the route are exposed to the elements and while the terrain is generally good, tracks and paths can be uneven, and grassy sections can be slippy underfoot. There are some steeper sections along the way, but we will be walking at a leisurely pace. Care is needed when crossing roads.

Please bring a packed lunch, water and suitable kit/clothing.
