Bethanie Reeves
I’m Beth and I am currently a politics undergraduate at Durham University, hoping to pursue a career in the education charity and/or policy sector once I graduate.
While at Durham, I have been an active member of the university community, representing students from state educated and low-income backgrounds. Notably, I was the Vice President for The 93% Club, a society with the main aim of helping state-educated students throughout their time at university to pursue top careers and professions. Additionally, I am the current working-class officer for Castle College, where I host events and talks relating to working-class awareness within higher education.
This is my first time getting involved with YHA, and I believe that it is an amazing charity that can transform young lives. The main quality that I will bring to the YHA team is determination - I aspire to suggest and implement policy that helps those in socio-economically disadvantaged positions within our current society. I aim to expand on the incredible work that YHA has done so far, to ensure that children and families from low-income backgrounds (who typically would not have the opportunity to do so) have the chance to travel, explore and access places across the country.
