Whether you prefer a flat white or an Earl Grey, our cafés are the perfect place to warm up with simple pleasures such as a hot drink, an indulgent slice of cake or refuel with a delicious bite to eat. Plus, they’re in amazing locations dotted around England and Wales. Here are some of our favourite café spots for you to try this season… enjoy!

YHA Ambleside

Situated right on the shores of Windermere, our café at YHA Ambleside is a stunning stop off point for watching storms develop over the mountains or enjoying the sunset whilst feasting on fantastic food and great drinks. Why not try our tasty toastie deal? You can get any toastie, with fries and salad or a mug of soup, served with a Marlish soft drink or freshly brewed hot drink for £8.50… ahh delicious.

YHA Berwick

Located on the quayside beside the River Tweed, YHA Berwick is a unique hostel with a Tower of Pisa-like lean! Visit our super café and top up on culture at the art gallery, whilst you’re there.

YHA Bristol

This former waterfront grain house is the perfect meeting place to catch up with friends over some food and drinks.  Have a yummy pizza and a drink in our relaxing café at YHA Bristol or sit on the harbour side and watch the world go by — the perfect wind-down after visiting all the amazing attractions Bristol has to offer.

YHA Hartington Hall

Call in to YHA Hartington Hall after a day exploring the beautiful village of Hartington at the heart of the Peak District. You can cosy up by the roaring fire with a cappuccino and your favourite piece of cake. The perfect way to warm up after a long day.

YHA Keswick

A beautiful place to be inspired and perhaps become the next Wordsworth is at our YHA Keswick café on the riverside, overlooking the River Greta. Before exploring the fells, tuck into an all you can eat cooked breakfast including sausages, bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, tomatoes and beans. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to enjoy too. The sound of the water flowing by makes for a relaxing spot to refuel before an adventure…

YHA Liverpool Albert Dock

Escape from your own four walls and head to YHA Liverpool Albert Dock’s café, a great place to escape working from home. With its tasty lunchtime food options, plenty of desk space and free WiFi, it’s a fab place to while away a couple of hours.

YHA South Downs

The South Downs National Park is the perfect destination to take a winter walk in the Sussex countryside. And our hostel is right on the South Downs Way, so after your fill of nature, top up hungry tummies at the café at YHA South Downs.

YHA Treyarnon Bay

Location, location, location. Around the corner from stunning Constantine Bay and overlooking spectacular Treyarnon Bay, the excellent café sits on the Southwest Coast Path. Enjoy a cuppa and cake while watching the surf roll in, overlooking the beautiful beach.

Fish ‘n’ chips and the seaside go hand in hand right? You can enjoy fish and chips at the café – 50p of this dish goes to our Breaks Programme – providing life-changing adventures for young people and families.

YHA Whitby

f you’ve walked up the 199 steps to get to our café at YHA Whitby, you deserve a delicious bite for lunch or a big slice of cake. It’s a great location to enjoy the views over the town, situated right next to the Abbey, take in the gothic setting that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

YHA York

A city packed with history and culture, enjoy a stroll along the riverside, to YHA York which is just 15 minutes out of town. Refuel at our lovely bar and café with a garden, it’s a nice tranquil spot away from the hustle and bustle of town.

Treat yourself to something sweet with our cuppa and cake offer – a cup of delicious tea or coffee and a slice of lovely cake. This is available in all of our catered hostels so, whether you’re staying as a guest, or just passing by. And don’t forget to pick up a loyalty card when you visit one of our cafés.
