YHA Wilderhope Manor is a breathtaking Grade I listed Elizabethan manor with original features including large picture windows and wood panelling, plus a beautiful view! Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or an adventure, this YHA is for you.

Where you'll sleep

Across the entire building there is a total of eight bedrooms.

First floor

One room that sleeps up to 3 people. It includes a single high-sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath.

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 5 people. It includes a single high-sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath and a set of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 7 people. It includes a single high-sleeper bunk with a double bed underneath and 2 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 12 people. It includes 6 sets of bunk beds.

One room that sleeps up to 14 people. It includes 7 sets of bunk beds.

Second floor

One en-suite room that sleeps up to 2 people. It includes a double bed.

Two rooms that sleep up to 5 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds and a single bed.

A cot is available.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: grill, iron and board, kettle, microwave, oven, refrigerator, stove, toaster, wood stove.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery for 42 people, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, bin bags, cloths, paper towels, soap, sponges, tea towels, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, the large dining room used to be the Great Hall of the manor. It seats up to 42 people across tables and chairs. There is also a soft seating area with a cofa and chairs.

Three highchairs are available.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 30 people. It has 4 comfy sofas, 10 chairs and several soft stools.

Across the entire building there is a total of 11 bathrooms.

Outdoors

Heating: Central heating is available throughout the property.
Towels and toiletries: Hand soap is provided next to all sinks. Towels are not supplied as standard.
Bedding: Bedding is supplied in all our rooms.
Dogs: Hire YHA Wilderhope Manor and bring up to four dogs! Add a dog to your booking at the checkout and bring your four-legged friend along with you. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture or in the kitchen, and must be kept on a lead in the grounds.
Checking in: You will receive an email prior to your arrival with the property address and check-in instructions.
Guest access: Guests have use of the whole property, except the bar and commercial kitchen. The hostel manager lives onsite, in a separate building within the hostel grounds. This hostel is a National Trust building – National Trust members are permitted access to the building from 2pm to 4pm on Sundays (all year) and Mondays (April to September).
WiFi: Free WiFi is available in shared social spaces.

Sleeping arrangements

Most of our bedrooms are dormitory style rooms with bunk beds. We always try to allocate bedrooms close together and will never ask your group to share bedrooms with anyone not in your group.

Upgrades are available for sole use of an area, floor or the entire place.

Shared spaces

YHA Wilderhope Manor offers great facilities like an impressive ground floor dining room, large lounge and dedicated meeting room (complete with projector). Groups also have full use of the extensive grounds.

This hostel is popular for functions, so treat your school residential or walking group to a bit of luxury. You can dine in the Great Hall and there are breathtaking views right from our doorstep.
