A grand Edwardian house on the coast, YHA Borth offers quality and inviting accommodation for guests to enjoy during their stay. This property is the perfect base for those looking for a seaside escape with family and friends.

Where you'll sleep

Across the entire building there is a total of 11 bedrooms.

First floor

Two en-suite rooms that sleep up to 4 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

Three rooms that sleep up to 4 people each. They include 2 sets of bunk beds.

Four en-suite rooms that sleep up to 6 people each. They include 3 sets of bunk beds.

Two rooms that sleep up to 8 people each. They include 3 sets of bunk beds and a single bed.

A cot is available.

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is located on the ground floor and includes a range of conveniences listed below.

Kitchen appliances: fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, mini fridge, 2 ovens, refrigerator, stove, toaster.

Kitchenware: dishes and cutlery, kitchen utensils, pots, pans.

Cleaning basics: anti-bacterial spray, paper towels, sponges, tea towels, washing up liquid.

Located on the ground floor, the dining room seats up to 44 people. There are 7 tables (each with 4 chairs), two large serving tables and a Welsh dresser stocked with crockery.

A highchair is available.

Lounge

The lounge is located on the ground floor and seats up to 10 people. You can relax on comfy seating, while reading a book from the small library or watching a DVD on the TV.

There is a separate games room with a pool table and a selection of board games.

Bathrooms

Across the entire building there is a total of seven bathrooms. All toilets and showers are on the first floor.

Outdoors

Outside consists of some small grounds, with beautiful sea views, overlooking Cardigan Bay.

Overview

Overlooking Cardigan Bay, giving the chance of seeing dolphins and seals, this Edwardian house is perfect for a UK coastal holiday and is ideal for cheap family breaks or school trips in Wales. All our bedrooms have views over the sea or the mountains.

A short drive from the coastal town of Aberystwyth, the village is dominated by its coastline and the many campsites which surround it. Plus, don't miss the amazing petrified forest which is visible at low tide on the beautiful sandy beach which is just 20m from the hostel.

A hostel in or near the university town was a constant dream of the local YHA committee, so YHA opened the Borth hostel in 1952, making it very popular with school groups. Over the years, Borth hostel has had many ‘sparkling’ improvements such as decoration and expansion due to its popularity.
