Social walk from YHA Ilam Hall

YHA Ilam Hall exterior

Overview

Sunday 29th September 2024

Distance: 4.5 miles

Duration: 2 hours

Led by: National Trust

A family-friendly circular walk from Ilam Park to the iconic stepping stones at Dovedale. From the picturesque village of Ilam we follow the River Manifold to Coldwall Bridge, before continuing to Dovedale National Nature Reserve. Take your turn to cross the stepping stones before returning to Ilam Park across farm fields.

This fairly gentle route is along paths, roads and across fields. Expect some uneven ground, steps and stiles. There may be livestock grazing and farm fields are likely to be muddy, so walking boots or wellies are recommended.
