History

YHA London Thameside was purpose-built for groups to come from all over the world.

The area that the hostel is in, Rotherhithe, is steeped in history from the first underwater tunnel built by Marc Brunel in 1825 to the famous story of the Mayflower ship which first set sail from Rotherhithe to discover the new world. Rotherhithe has a famous seafaring history with stories of pirates and royalty as well as the history of the Thames and the trading ships of the past.

Meet the team

Manager recommends: As part of your London weekend break, pull in a visit to the National Maritime Museum, the leading maritime museum of the UK. The Royal Observatory, best known as the location of the prime meridia or 'Greenwich Mean Time' is also located here. Any city break to London isn't complete without a ride on the London Eye - catch a river taxi from near the youth hostel.
