YHA Safeguarding Policy and Procedures
YHA (England & Wales) has a duty of care to provide a safe environment for all who come into contact with our activities and services.
Many employees and volunteers have contact with children during the course of their work. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is embedded across our network. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility in our organisation and we strive to deliver a safe and trusted environment.
We believe that it is always unacceptable for any child to experience abuse or neglect of any kind. We recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all children, by committing to policy, procedures and practices that seek to prevent and protect them from all forms of abuse and neglect.
YHA's Safeguarding Policy and Procedures provides an overarching framework for the organisation on how to prevent, recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns and allegations. This enables us to put the safety and wellbeing of children at the heart of our mission. It makes clear what is required in relation to the protection of all children and in doing so helps us to create a safe and positive environment for all.
