Overview
Saturday 5th October 2024
Distance: 8 miles
Duration: 4 - 6 hours
Led by: Andrew McCloy, YHA, with BMC volunteer guides
From YHA Boggle Hole the walk heads south along the clifftop via the former historic alum works, then up to Ravenscar on the clifftop with terrific views across Robin Hood’s Bay. An easy return stretch along a former railway line called the Cinder Track, finishing with a short but steep section back to the hostel. Rough and potentially slippery underfoot in a few places, and although mostly straightforward there are some steep and uneven steps at the very end.
This event is part of YHA's Festival of Walking - view other social walks.
What makes it special
- Stunning coastal views across Robin Hood’s Bay
- Great for building confidence walking in rural locations
- Free cuppa at the finishing point
